IrisVision offers a Virtual Reality headset that has restored sight to many people who are legally blind. While it didn’t cure the physical cause of their blindness, the device let people with severe macular degeneration resume activities like reading and gardening, tasks they previously found impossible.
Skipfour worked with the IrisVision executive management team on several initiatives before they eventually were able to spin it out into its own standalone company. One of the challenges we took on was to reinvent the headset and creating the VR app, better engage primary care providers and guide them to trust and prescribe IrisVision to their patients.
IrisVision approached Skipfour when they had recently made the medical headset that helped alleviate several vision impairments. They had a great product but wanted to a partner to "activate" their company in the marketplace to increase their footprint on the medical landscape. The biggest challenge was budget, as they were significantly smaller then, around $1M company with the first round of funding. They required one-stop sales, marketing, business development, product placement, product strategy, digital marketing, developing distribution channels and strategy team all rolled in one, so they could focus on the product and someone like Skipfour could focus on launching their product and making it successful.
Skipfour and IrisVision signed a 3 year cost-sharing partnership. Skipfour hired teams for sales and marketing, business development, digital marketing and SEO. The teams included seasoned executives that had deep connections in the medical marketplace. We created strategies for each of the areas and executed. We attended conferences, exhibitions, talked to governors and lawmakers, talked to device manufacturer and put IrisVision on the map. We also helped IrisVision productize their product so it was no longer bits and pieces of various technologies but a single product that customer could hold and relate to.
Skipfour engaged our offshore team to develop the Virtual Reality (VR) application for IrisVision that ran on their headset, helped restructure the website to deliver a crisp message to the providers and end-customers.
Everything was branded clearly and marketed with a single message; very quickly the market started responding. We filmed dozens of success stories of the customers and uploaded them on youtube to further strengthen brand recognition. It snowballed from there on.
By the time Skipfour was ready to exit the partnership in 2018, the company's net worth had grown from $1M to a valuation of $14M. It is now one of the most recognized vision products in the US and among the top competitors. The success has not stopped there, Skipfour remains a shareholder in the company but has handed over the reigns to IrisVision for sales and marketing. Since then the company has continued the phenomenal growth trajectory is now valued at around $17M and still growing.
CrossingHub is the biggest marketplace for film, drama and theatre. It allows movie producers, directors, crew members to plan to their next entertainment project and hire right from this platform. It also allows the talented individuals such as actors and actresses to find work and get found easily.
The founder of CrossingHub contacted Skipfour in 2018 with just an idea of what they wanted to build. Skipfour found the idea marketable and signed a partnership agreement to found CrossingHub together. The nature of the partnership is to help CrossingHub create a digital presence including a website that supports the business model and mobile apps to increase market penetration.
Many of us have ideas that we believe are disruptive and would change the industry they are launched for. CrossingHub was a great idea, however that idea lacked the technical depth, execution details, lack of feature set and a business model, Skipfour changed all that. Skipfour was approached with just a vision of creating an online marketplace where production companies could hire actors and crew members. We took that seed and turned it into a tree.
Skipfour took that vision and converted that into a business model, a sales and marketing strategy, a complete feature-set which is many many folds the original idea. We were also able to provide access to global markets that the founder did not have access to.
The partnership is still ongoing, we have jointly completed the first phase of developing the website and taking the product to various forums. We recently launched several digital marketing campaigns to gain brand recognition and in talks with angel investors to fund the business to grow to the next level. Although the product launch in mid-January 2019, there has been an explosion in sign-ups and we are witnessing a keen interest from the film industry and the big-wigs that want to leverage the platform for their next project.
Further team creation is going on to create a workforce that can increase the outreach and people from remote areas can also get found easily using this product.
Although, scheduled to be reviewed in Q4 2019, the company's performance has beat all of the previous forecasts. We did not expect any transactions in the Q1 of 2019 but we are already seeing individuals and businesses using the product for business. The film industry worldwide is an over $56 Billion business and we are well positioned to hit our targets set for 3 years to grow into a $15M company.
A few years ago it was a niche internet fad, now homemade slime is so popular it has created countless YouTube stars and revived the fortunes of ailing glue factories. Many big names such as Elmers has turned profitable because of this trend. It is estimated that in US alone the customer spend over $200M yearly on buying slime or slime products.
Cashing in on the same craze a company (Slimeo.co) that was already making significant sales in the slime business through Instagram orders and videos, approached us to help them build an online presence. Help them grow sales and also help them go global. Skipfour entered into a partnership with Slimeo.co to take up this slimy endeavor.
The vision was to create products with multiple variations that allowed customers to tailor-make the slime online and then have it shipped. The products being introduced had edible slime variety as well, that had to take into account local laws on health-grade materials to be used and shipped in a certain manner. The customer was not aware of any legal, sales or marketing requirements.
Skipfour entered into a partnership with Slimeo.co and built an online presence. We helped devise the global sales strategy and helped create brand recognition on various platforms that are used by the customers to buy slime. We also built a comprehensive SEO strategy that allowed their products to rise in search ranks to make it easier for customers to find them.
Launched last year, Slimeo.co has become one of the most admired slime companies in the US. The company has been selling in more countries than ever before including US, Canada, Australia, UK, Germany and Austria. The sales have grown for over 20x since we started and still growing steadily. There are many articles published recommending Slimeo.co as the go-to vendor for buying slime, it is also ranked among top 5 on Etsy.
